1.Acceptance of These Terms

By accessing or using the Site, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Notice. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. We may revise these Terms from time to time, as described in Section 13, and your continued use of the Site after we post a revision means you accept the revised Terms.

2.Not a Law Firm; No Legal Advice

Karte Global is an independent advisory practice. We are not a law firm, we do not practice law, and we do not provide legal services or legal advice. Our work consists of genealogical research, eligibility analysis, document procurement, translation coordination, and administrative consulting for citizenship and relocation matters.

Nothing on the Site, and nothing we provide in the course of our services, is legal advice or a substitute for advice from a qualified attorney. An individual associated with Karte Global holds a United States law degree but does not practice immigration or nationality law in the United States or in any European jurisdiction and is not acting as your attorney. Using the Site or engaging our services does not create an attorney-client relationship.

For legal questions, including questions of immigration or nationality law, you should consult qualified counsel admitted in the relevant jurisdiction. Where a matter calls for legal representation, we will tell you, and we can refer you to independent counsel.

3.The Services, and How Engagements Begin

The Site describes our services and how we work. We deliver work in defined stages, with a fixed fee tied to each stage and a decision point before the next stage begins. The Site itself is informational.

Submitting an inquiry, completing an intake form, or booking a consultation does not by itself create an engagement or any obligation on our part to perform work. An engagement begins only when you and we enter into a written agreement, consisting of a Master Services Agreement and one or more Statements of Work that define the scope, deliverables, and fees for your matter. Those documents govern the services, and where they differ from these Terms for your engagement, they control.

4.No Guarantee of Outcomes

Eligibility for citizenship or residence by descent or ancestry depends on the law of the relevant country, the decisions of foreign authorities, the availability and condition of historical records, and the specific facts of your family history, all of which are outside our control. Any assessment we provide is a considered professional opinion based on the information available to us. It is not a guarantee of any particular result, and nothing on the Site or in our communications should be read as a promise that you will obtain citizenship, a passport, residence, or any other outcome. Timelines we describe are estimates, not commitments.

5.Eligibility and Acceptable Use

You must be at least eighteen years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Site. You agree to use the Site lawfully and not to misuse it. You will not attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site or its systems, interfere with or disrupt its operation, harvest content by automated means without our permission, introduce malicious code, infringe the rights of others, or use the Site to violate any law.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide to us, and you confirm that you are entitled to share any information about other individuals that you give us.

6.Intellectual Property

The Site and its contents, including its text, layout, design, and graphics, and the Karte Global name, the KG Union Seal, the KARTE GLOBAL wordmark, and the MoveMeTo.EU brand, are owned by Karte Global, LLC or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-commercial license to view the Site in order to learn about and engage our services. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, or create derivative works from the Site or our marks without our prior written permission.

Photographs on the Site are licensed from their sources, and the photographers are credited on our Credits page. Those images remain subject to their own licenses.

7.Third-Party Tools and Links

To operate the Site and deliver our services, we rely on independent providers, including for hosting, scheduling, intake forms, and payment processing. When you use one of those tools, it operates under its own terms and privacy practices. The Site may also link to websites we do not control. We provide those links for convenience, we are not responsible for the content, products, or practices of any third-party site or service, and a link does not imply our endorsement.

MoveMeTo.EU is a brand and property of Karte Global, LLC and is covered by these Terms. It is not a third-party site.

8.Privacy

Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Notice, which explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information. Please review it at karteglobal.com/privacy.

9.Disclaimers

The Site and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that the information on it is complete, accurate, or current. Information on the Site is general, may not apply to your particular circumstances, and is not a substitute for professional or legal advice.

10.Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Karte Global and the individuals associated with it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the Site, whether based in contract, tort, or any other theory, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Site or these Terms will not exceed the greater of the fees you paid us for the engagement giving rise to the claim, or one hundred United States dollars. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain of these limitations, so some of them may not apply to you.

11.Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Karte Global, LLC and the individuals associated with it from and against any claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable expenses, including legal fees, arising out of your misuse of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your provision to us of information that you were not entitled to share.

12.Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Arlington, Virginia, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

13.Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date shown above. Changes take effect when posted, and your continued use of the Site after that means you accept the updated Terms. If a change materially affects an active engagement, the terms of your signed agreement govern that engagement.
